Recorded during a wet winter storm on january 12, 2014 in nova scotia. Wind gusts were reported to be 100 km per hour with heavy rain. Recorded using a zoom h4n using onboard mics standing under an awning for cover. Curious how this ends up being used.

Birds recorded from about 0430 in the morning. They include geese and gulls. This was a windy day. Some of the wind noise has been reduced, but it can clearly be heard. A pair of lom usi microphones were placed in a tree and attached to an olympus ls-14. Edited with ardour.

Some birds (i think a bunch of crows and a hawk) fighting in a tree near my house. Recorded with a zoom h4n at 96/24. Birds were about 30 feet up in the tee and i was on the ground another 30 feet away. Some light traffic and airplane sounds low in the mix.

A peaceful ambiance of some pine trees in early, early spring. The predominant, lower-pitched background is the strong south wind blowing through the tops of healthy pine trees. . . An unwavering "swooshing" that cuddles and curls around the flexible, thick-resin-filled pine needles. Also, from time to time, you hear the sound of the wind rattling some dead and brown oak leaves; oak leaves which are still stubbornly hanging on to their parent tree. I purposely did only a very bare minimum of post-processing on this sound so as to keep it as realistic as possible. Yes, there are quite a few wind rumbles that i toned down just a little bit. I did not totally get rid of the wind rumbles. I did this on purpose so you the true feeling of " being there " on that mild, but still raw cold day of spring could still be felt. At 4:35 into the soundscape the trilling of a pine warbler is heard---a warble of warm-sounding notes fighting back stubborn winter. There i was late a night. I was turning my computer off after editing my site. I was silenced by night. But there was a storm a brewin' i opened my bedroom window and put my ear to the icy wind. I knew then this wasn't the usual mellow wind. I ran down the stair with my zoom h4n equipped, went through the garage into the black of night. I sent my gain levels to 60 and with only a foam wind shield i put it between to to boards of wood to act as a wind shield thus allowing my to capture the wind slicing through the trees. With only adjusting the gain levels slightly in post nothing else been done, allow you to add you own effect on it.
